Eric and I will complete the Tor des Geants, 330 km (200 miles) in the Italian Alps this September (10-17 September). Many people think that walking/running 200 miles is a mission impossible, but it is not. We will participate in the Tor for the organization Free to Run, and we are asking you to make a small donation of $20-25 to support us (in spirit) and them (in cash). FREE TO RUN’S mission is to use sports, running and outdoor adventure to empower and educate girls and women from conflict-affected communities. They provide sports opportunities to women and girls in conflict zones and refugee camps, believing that the social cohesion and confidence that comes from sport, especially running, can provide critical coping mechanisms and reduce the vulnerability of those most at risk.  Some may think that changing the situation of girls and women in these communities is impossible. But we think that if we accept the view that something is impossible, we have given in the thinking that there is only one possibility. Sakyong Mipham wrote in his book Running with the Mind of Meditation that « runners intuitively know that through dedication and hard work, success can come about : if we, as humanity, dedicate ourselves to creating a better world, then it is completely doable. » Thanks in advance for your support !
